More than fancy pages or special effects, writing is what makes blogging effective. And whether your blogging is personal or for business, I can help with the words.

A blog owes its voice, personality and credibility to its words. People will keep coming back if a blog's writing is good. A blog may have a lot of bells and whistles, but without readable content it is just empty design and technology.

Techniques for blending words with design do give blogging a special flavor, but the fundamentals of good writing are still the basic ingredients. The same concepts apply to blogging as to other person-to-person communications or targeting of groups.

Whether you measure blogging success in terms of personal fulfillment, reach, revenue, or any of the other reasons for going on-line, your effectiveness depends on what you write and how well you write.

A blog's content is a reflection of you, your group or your company. Like everything on the Internet, whatever you put on a blog can end up being seen by the entire world, perhaps forever.

Personal blogging.  If you are new to blogging, I can refer you to good sources for help in finding
a suitable platform for a personal blog and with understanding the technology, while I coach you on the content and writing, including:

• Finding your voice in a conversational style.

• Editing the content of your own blog or comments you may want to post on other blogs.

• Guiding you on interactive aspects of your blog,
if you decide to go in that direction, including responding to any comments.

• Helping maintain the regularity and consistency that an effective blog requires.

 

 
 

Business blogging.  Many companies and organizations use blogs to commuicate with customers and clients, their own employees, the community, media, industry analysts, or a combination of these. If blogging is part of your communication plan, I can help you with editing, writing and content development, including:

• Editing content to maintain voice and style, ensure it adheres to policy and guidelines.

• Promoting products or services, announcing new products or services, providing information on how to use products or servcies.

• Promoting vision and developments, helping manage crisis situations.

• Building relationships, fostering loyalty, gathering feedback and suggestions, developing a user community around a product or service.

• Internal communications and training.

• Writing and researching white papers, reports or other kinds of communications.
