Do you need help with a writing project, such as preparing
a report or proposal? Do you want to strengthen and polish
your writing? Do you need to fix a writing problem? Would
you like your writing to be more focused, clear and direct?
Getting help from a writing coach can show immediate results.
The coaching is confidential, at your own pace, when and where it’s convenient, and includes sitdown sessions in the Cleveland area so we can work together on a project or on improving your writing, including practicing on the kinds of writing you do at work.
For writing projects, you get hands-on help in one-to-one sessions that you can schedule in hour-long blocks -- with time in between so you can work on your own -- or you can combine them into longer meetings.
For writing improvement, you get a helpful assessment of your writing, which we go over at our first session. We look at the kinds of writing your job requires, then tailor a writing-improvement approach to meet your needs. You get a personal lesson plan with materials to review and practice on your job. As you’re ready to move ahead, you schedule the next coaching session so we can refine how you’re using the approach and then practice applying it to your job-related writing.
Or, if you prefer, a writing coach can help you select one of several good self-study courses in business writing that are available, then work with you as you move through the course at your own pace. With either approach, your confidence will build as people begin to see a real improvement in your writing. How to get started: It’s easy to get coaching started, and your first session could be scheduled within days if you want. There are no formalities. Just call or e-mail. Here’s how it typically goes:
• An introductory conversation, often by phone, determines what needs to be done – for instance, fix a writing problem, or strengthen and polish your writing, or get help with a writing project.
• We schedule a meeting for soon after and we get started on your writing project or on improving your writing.
• For writing improvement, after the first session you work on the between-sessions material, then schedule the next session when you're ready. • You set the date, time and location for coaching sessions, using the on-line session schedule link or calling (440) 915-6117.
