I coach college students when they first arrive at school, helping them get ready for English Composition placement tests, and then after they start classes, including Freshman Comp and all the writing that comes with it.

If you're among the many students who get to college and still are weak at writing, or you're having trouble making the adjustment from high school writing to college-level writing, I can help you fix writing problems and strengthen your general writing skills.

If your classes suddenly get harder, if your reading has slipped a bit, if you don't bounce back after break or an illness, or if exams are closing in and you haven't started a paper or writing project that is due in an impossibly short time, I may be able to help.

In a crunch, facing a deadline?   I can help get you through a writing project or assignment, working with you for as long or short a time as you need, and at little cost. If it's a crisis, you may be able to get immediate help.

Need to strengthen your writing or fix a problem?   I can help you improve your writing while you are taking classes, working with you outside the classroom and even using material from your classes as practice.

Coaching is available in the Cleveland area.   One-to-one confidential coaching sessions, where you can sit down in private with a writing coach and get help, are available near where you live, work or are taking a class -- including all locations of Cleveland State University, Cuyahoga Community College, other colleges and universities in this area, and business and technical schools. Why you might want to use this writing coach:  After many years of helping college students and recent graduates with their writing, I see writing as an intrinsically personal effort. I believe everyone's writing abilities are distinctly different and any writing problems that someone may have are truly unique to that individual. I am totally nonjudgmental and supportive. I take a personalized approach with everyone I coach, and I know by experience the best way to help in many different situations. My greatest reward is the personal satisfaction he gets from being able to help someone with their writing.

Coaching packages: A basic coaching package consists of three one-hour sessions that you can space however you want, or combine into one or two longer sessions. The basic package ought to be enough either to get you headed in the right direction on writing improvement or to finish a writing project. The fee is $200 and includes an additional hour of assessment or an additional hour of editing help on a writing project. Add-on coaching sessions are $50 per hour.
